Dear ladies and gents,

Sometimes no matter how hard you try to strengthen your immune system  you just can’t avoid the infections.

Drinking antibiotics in these cases in not harmless, they destroy not only pathogenic bacteria, but also a million of  “good” bacteria, necessary for proper digestion.

However, there is an alternative, which can help you treat the infection without any side-effect.

You just have to instal a few habits into your every day life and your health will improve rapidly.

1. Drink warm lemon water;

Lemon is a rich source of nutrients like calcium, potassium, vitamin C and pectin fiber. It also has medicinal values and antibacterial properties. It also contains traces of iron and vitamin A. Lemon is a fabulous antiseptic and lime-water juice also works wonders for people having heart problems, owing to its high potassium content. So, make it a part of your daily routine to drink a glass of warm lemon water in the morning and enjoy its health benefits.

It balances maintain the pH levels in the body;

Having warm lemon juice early in the morning helps flush out toxins;

It aids digestion;

It is also a great source citric acid, potassium, calcium, phosphorus and magnesium;

It helps prevent the growth and multiplication of pathogenic bacteria that cause infections and diseases;

It helps reducing pain and inflammation in joints and knees as it dissolves uric acid;

It helps cure the common cold;

The potassium content in lemon helps nourish brain and nerve cells and many, many more…

2. Eat garlic;

I know that it doesn’t smell so good but its anti-bacterial properties are just phenomenal. History taught us that garlic was used in the treatment of plague and other epidemic disease. It’s anti-bacterial properties have been studied for centuries.

Garlic is efficient in the treatment of different bacteria, viruses and fungi. Consuming fresh garlic regularly might help you avoid certain cancers, according to Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, whose website says that people who eat large amounts of garlic have less incidence of certain types of cancer.  Garlic-derived compounds reduce the side effects of chemotherapy drugs and suggest that these chemicals might be useful for breast cancer therapy. Wright State University compared the efficacy of garlic and penicillin. Unlike modern antibiotics, bacteria do not develop resistance to garlic.

3. Oregano oil;

The herb is used to treat respiratory tract disorders, gastrointestinal (GI) disorders, menstrual cramps, and urinary tract disorders. It is also applied topically to help treat a number of skin conditions, such as acne and dandruff. Oregano contains: fiber, iron, manganese, vitamin E, iron, calcium, omega fatty acids, manganese, and typtophan. The research conducted in the Georgetown University showed that oregano oil can fight infections with the same efficacy as conventional antibiotics. Biologists at the United Arab Emirates University reported in the journal PLoS ONE that oregano exhibits anticancer activity by encouraging cell cycle arrest and apoptosis (cancer cells commit suicide) of the MDA-MB-231 breast cancer line.

Oregano is also used for the following illnesses and conditions:

Muscle pain;
Heart Conditions;
Intestinal parasites;
Menstrual cramps;

4. Propolis;

Bees use propolis to maintain the hygiene of the hive-to protect it from intruders, including infections. Propolis contains at least 19 active substances, all the vitamins, and 13 out of 14 minerals your body needs.

Today, propolis is an ingredient in many manufactured beauty and skin care products. The compound is still used for medical purposes, which include:

fighting infections;
boosting the immune system;
healing genital herpes and cold sores;
treating skin injuries;
helping the mouth heal after dental surgery;

5. Aronia;

In the contest for ever healthier foods, aronia is surely a winner in the making. With science demonstrating significant benefits to health, farmers planting large acreage and the media increasingly boosting its fortunes, it’s only a short matter of time before aronia, the North American super berry, leaps to prominence in juices, jams, jellies and many other products.Several of the compounds in aronia are natural cancer fighters, and protect against the development of tumors of the bladder, breasts, colon, lungs, ovaries and skin. In addition, these compounds fight Crohn’s disease, inhibit HIV, reduce uncomfortable symptoms of PMS and fight herpes. Preliminary studies have also shown that aronia may prove helpful in slowing the growth of glioblastoma – a form of fatal brain cancer.

Reduce blood pressure;
Reduce oxidised LDL cholesterol levels;
Reduce inflammation;
Reduce the chance of a heart attack;
Reduce recovery time following a heart attack;
Reduce weight gain;
Reduce eye inflammation;
Reduce muscle recovery time after workouts;
Regulate Blood sugar;
Reduce the chance of developing cancer;

6. Green tea;

“It’s the healthiest thing I can think of to drink,” says Christopher Ochner, PhD. He’s a research scientist in nutrition at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital. Green tea has been shown to improve blood flow and lower cholesterol. A 2013 review of many studies found green tea helped prevent a range of heart-related issues, from high blood pressure to congestive heart failure. Green tea has also been shown to help block the formation of plaques that are linked to Alzheimer’s disease. It seems to help keep blood sugar stable in people with diabetes. Because catechins lower cholesterol and blood pressure, they can help protect against the damage a high-fat diet can cause. Green tea increases the metabolism. The polyphenol found in green tea works to intensify levels of fat oxidation and the rate at which your body turns food into calories.
Green tea apparently helps regulate glucose levels slowing the rise of blood sugar after eating. This can prevent high insulin spikes and resulting fat storage.
Scientists think, green tea works on the lining of blood vessels, helping keep them stay relaxed and better able to withstand changes in blood pressure. It may also protect against the formation of clots, which are the primary cause of heart attacks.
It can reduce the risk of esophageal cancer, but it is also widely thought to kill cancer cells in general without damaging the healthy tissue around them.
Green tea reduces bad cholesterol in the blood and improves the ratio of good cholesterol to bad cholesterol.
It is said to delay the deterioration caused by Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. Studies carried out on mice showed that green tea protected brain cells from dying and restored damaged brain cells.
Studies suggests that the chemical antioxidant “catechin” in tea can destroy bacteria and viruses that cause throat infections, dental caries and other dental conditions
Regular consumption of green tea is thought to reduce the risk of high blood pressure.
Theanine is an amino acid naturally found in tea leaves. It is this substance that is thought to provide a relaxing and tranquilizing effect and be a great benefit to tea drinkers.
Tea catechins are strong antibacterial and antiviral agents which make them effective for treating everything from influenza to cancer. In some studies green tea has been shown to inhibit the spread of many diseases.

7. Ginger;

A clue to ginger’s success in eliminating gastrointestinal distress is offered by recent double-blind studies, which have demonstrated that ginger is very effective in preventing the symptoms of motion sickness, especially seasickness. In fact, in one study, ginger was shown to be far superior to Dramamine, a commonly used over-the-counter and prescription drug for motion sickness. Ginger reduces all symptoms associated with motion sickness including dizziness, nausea, vomiting, and cold sweating. Traditional holistic practitioners often use ginger to treat aliments ranging from nausea to arthritis pain. In China, ginger has been used for over 2000 years to help treat nausea, stomach problems, arthritis and heart conditions.

8. Watermelon Seeds;

Magnesium is the most abundant mineral, weighing in with 556mg, or 139 percent of the recommended daily value, in 1 cup of dried seeds. According to the National Institutes of Health, magnesium helps regulate blood pressure and the metabolism of carbohydrates, which has a beneficial effect on blood sugar as well. Other important minerals in watermelon seeds are phosphorous, iron, potassium, sodium, copper, manganese and zinc. Watermelon seeds also contain a variety of vitamins and minerals. The B-vitamin group is most prevalent in the seeds, but they are also good sources of magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, zinc, iron and copper. B vitamins are necessary for good metabolism, healthy blood and effective immune response. Magnesium and other minerals are needed for strong bones and immunity, but they are also beneficial in regulating blood pressure and blood glucose levels.

9. Stop drinking coffee;

First it is important to realize that caffeine just isn’t that easy to digest. To break down the coffee you ingest and deliver that burst of energy to your blood stream, your liver uses enzymes. If all of your enzymes are hard at work within your liver trying to break down the caffeine, they aren’t ready and active in your blood to knock out other bad chemicals it needs to get rid of. People who drink too much coffee often have difficulty getting rid of chemicals from their bodies, and their liver function is off. Because caffeine is a stimulant, it causes your nervous system to run on high, making adrenaline, which we know we need in situations requiring action, or stress. If you can tolerate high levels of caffeine without a response, this is a bad thing- it means that your glands have actually stopped responding to you, like the boy who cried wolf! This can leave you susceptible to accidents, sleepiness, and health problems.

Believe it or not, coffee has the most pesticides of any food on this earth. So let’s be clear- I’m not saying it has traces of pesticides, I’m saying you can’t find any other plant in the world that has a higher toxicity of pesticides than coffee. It is so heavily treated with chemicals and fertilizers that it is even proving deadly in crop workers in many countries. Studies have shown over a thousand chemicals in coffee! If this isn’t enough to put your cup down, read on… about twenty of these chemicals are proven to cause cancer. Is it worth the risk?

10. Avocado;

The ability of avocado to help prevent unwanted inflammation is absolutely unquestionable in the world of health research. The term “anti-inflammatory” is a term that truly applies to this delicious food. Avocado’s anti-inflammatory nutrients fall into five basic categories:

phytosterols, including beta-sitosterol, stigmasterol, and campesterol
carotenoid antioxidants, including lutein, neoxanthin, neochrome, chrysanthemaxanthin, beta-cryptoxanthin, zeaxanthin, violaxanthin , beta-carotene and alpha-carotene
other (non-carotenoid) antioxidants, including the flavonoids epicatechin and epigallocatechin 3-0-gallate, vitamins C and E, and the minerals manganese, selenium, and zinc
omega-3 fatty acids, in the form of alpha-linolenic acid (approximately 160 milligrams per cup of sliced avocado)
polyhydroxylated fatty alcohols (PSA)s

The anti-cancer properties of avocado are definitely related to its unusual mix of anti-inflammatory and antioxidant nutrients. That relationship is to be expected since cancer risk factors almost always include excessive inflammation (related to lack of anti-inflammatory nutrients) and oxidative stress (related to lack of antioxidants). But here is where the avocado story gets especially interesting. In healthy cells, avocado works to improve inflammatory and oxidative stress levels. But in cancer cells, avocado works to increase oxidative stress and shift the cancer cells over into a programmed cell death cycle (apoptosis), lessening the cancer cell numbers.

And of course drink more water;

Water Helps Maintain the Balance of Body Fluids. Your body is composed of about 60% water. The functions of these bodily fluids include digestion, absorption, circulation, creation of saliva, transportation of nutrients, and maintenance of body temperature. Water Can Help Control Calories. For years, dieters have been drinking lots of water as a weight loss strategy. While water doesn’t have any magical effect on weight loss, substituting it for higher calorie beverages can certainly help.

“What works with weight loss is if you choose water or a non-caloric beverage over a caloric beverage and/or eat a diet higher in water-rich foods that are healthier, more filling, and help you trim calorie intake,” says Penn State researcher Barbara Rolls, PhD, author of The Volumetrics Weight Control Plan.

Water Helps Keep Skin Looking Good. Your skin contains plenty of water, and functions as a protective barrier to prevent excess fluid loss. But don’t expect over-hydration to erase wrinkles or fine lines, says Atlanta dermatologist Kenneth Ellner, MD.

When you’re getting enough fluids, urine flows freely, is light in color and free of odor. When your body is not getting enough fluids, urine concentration, color, and door increases because the kidneys trap extra fluid for bodily functions and many, many more…

Overall, you can eat healthy and remain a happy and active individual. Use these 10 ways you can eat better to help you get started on a path to successful healthy eating and a longer life.
